There are heaps of spots to soak in at the super-sized Holiday Village Costa del Sol – from the nearby sandy swathe to the pools at the Beach Club.

This place is perched on the outskirts of Benalmadena, which means it’s got the space to sprawl out. As such, you can expect an Aerial Adventure course, two playgrounds, four restaurants and a spa with a pool.

A beach club across the road is the hotel’s trump card. It adds more pools into the mix, including ones with slides, a pirate ship and a wave machine. There’s a restaurant down here, too.

If you’re looking for a golf holiday, this hotel’s a great pick.

Pool

There’s nothing boring about the pool scene here. There’s one with elephant-shaped jet hoses, a second with a giant pirate ship, and another that has a wave machine between mid-April and mid-September. Tots have their own splash pool, and there’s a pair of luxurious seaview Jacuzzis^® with sunken water loungers. The main pool’s a big lagoon-style number with a separate section for little ones.

Food & drink

As well as a buffet place, there’s an American Diner and an Italian restaurant to sort out cravings for lasange and big bowls of penne. An al fresco Beach Club restaurant* is open between mid-April and mid-September, too. The bars include one at the pool and another overlooking the sea, plus an Irish-themed pub with Guinness on offer. And there’s a snack bar serving up light bites during the day.

Entertainment

Head for the open-air theatre for pop and cabaret shows, catch films in the mini cinema, or pull up a seat in the Irish bar for sports on the big screen. There’s a list of clubs on hand for kids, too. HV Creche caters for babies aged up to 35 months, kids aged 3 to 8 get HV Clubs, and for youngsters aged between 9 and 12, there’s HV Crew. Teens get a different place to head to – they can make TikTok videos, learn graffiti art or watch films at The Zone.

• HV ClubHV has got all ages covered with their kids’ club line up. There’s the HV Creche for tiny tots up to 35 months, with activities like storytelling, arts & crafts, and star-gazing in the evenings, too. The HV Club for 3 to 8-year-olds hosts a whole bunch of fun with themed games like HV detective and Cosmic Invaders, while the HV Crew for 9 to 12s, has got things like Twilight Thrills – think obstacle courses, games and puzzles once the sun has set. They’re open seven days a week and most activities are free. Please note, the HV Creche service isn’t available during winter months.
• Evening entertainment programmeWith 15 game shows and over 10 all-singing-all-dancing productions, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy in the evenings. The kids can even expect to see HV mascots The Widgets get involved with the likes of dance parties and themed shows, too.

Sports & activities

Away from the all-action pool scene, the activities roster ticks off circus skills workshops, snorkelling and crazy golf. In the glitzy games arcade, you’ll find foosball and air hockey. HV Clubs, meanwhile, put on everything from sensory sessions for tiny ones and Aeroball for teens.

• Swim Academy*Lessons by ASA-qualified teachers for non-swimmers looking to take their first steps to swimming, and for those swimmers looking to progress. There’s group and 1-1 sessions available, too. Our swim academy is for ages 3+, and places are hot property so get in quick.

• Stage Academy*There’s a whole bunch of classes focusing on singing, dancing and acting for first-time performers to those who’ve already taken to the stage before. Plus, they’ll get to show off their talents as part of the evening entertainment, too. Please note, these sessions are for ages 4 to 15 and run from 4th July to 31st August.
• Stage Tots Animal AdventureA session where the tots can learn singing, dancing and sign through songs and storytelling. This session is for ages up to 4 and is sure to be hit with the little ones.
• Kids’ daytime activity programmeThere’s plenty on the cards to keep the kids busy like ‘Cryptic Quests’ with secret messages in need of decoding or ‘Survivor’ with challenges like relay races and brain-teasing puzzles. They can also get creative with sessions like ‘AirCRAFT’, where they’ll build their own plane and test to see it soar through the air, or for something more action-packed, there’s ‘Go Fence’ – a chance to master the art of fencing with replica equipment – and the ’60 second showdown’, a fast-paced game filled with lots of one-minute challenges. • Daytime activity programmeAdults aren’t forgotten about at HV. For the competitive there’s football, darts and card games like poker and UNO, or for those who’d like to sip on a drink whilst getting involved, there’s cheese and wine tasting or cocktail making.
• Water activitiesWith activities ranging from aqua boarding – where instructors will guide you through the basics of body-boarding and paddling techniques – to crazy challenges on giant inflatable canoes.
